Leaders from the business sector, faith community, and government gathered in Windhoek over the weekend for the inaugural Deeper Leaders and Business summit.

The Walvis Bay Municipality has assured the public that it will structure, phase, and support the relocation of residents to Farm 37 with essential services.

This comes in response to criticism surrounding the reported plan.

The Minister of Works and Transport, Veikko Nekundi, reminded the community of Onaimbungu that independence was not easily attained and should be safeguarded.

He made the remarks at the belated Independence Day celebration at Onaimbungu Village in the Ohangwena region.

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has inaugurated the N$900 million Swapo Party national headquarters. 

The inauguration coincided with the party's 66th anniversary, commemorating its founding as a liberation movement on 19 April 1960. 

Botswana is expected to embark on a benchmarking exercise in Namibia as the country reels from foot-and-mouth disease (FMD).

The FMD crisis is rampant across the SADC region, with Namibia being the sole exception.
