Illegal fishing in Namibian waters could cost up to N$10 million in fines

Vessels caught fishing illegally in Namibian waters could soon face fines of up to N$10 million.

That's according to Works and Transport Minister Veikko Nekundi, who said Cabinet has approved changes to strengthen the country's outdated fishing laws.

One of the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation's long-serving cameramen, Eddy Eneas, was buried at Grootfontein on Saturday.

Eneas died on the 24th of October at Oshakati Intermediate Hospital after a short illness.
