11th edition of Ombandjele Sport Tournament launched

Windhoek-Business owners and community leaders have been urged to plough back into their communities. The call was made by ChiefJustice Peter Shivute, when he officially handed over the floating trophy of the 11th Ombandjele Tournament. Speaking in his capacity as the tournament's patron, Chief Justice Peter Shivute said the purpose of investing in such competitions is to plough back and make sure that youngsters are kept away from unwanted deeds. Shivute handed over the Football and Netball floating trophy to the Ombandjele Sport Club chairman John Nauta, together with his technical team. “We create platform to the youngsters to come together, to mingle and keep themselves with something useful. At the same time residents also come together and sell their stuff to make money to make a living” Shivute said. According to the tournament organisers, the much awaited games will kick off from the the 17th to to the 21st of December. The annual event will host netball, football and Volleyball games for fun. Over 30 teams are expected to take part this year.
