By Kavii Vezemburuka The third edition of the Navachab half marathon takes to the roads of Karibib this weekend (Saturday). Navachab Gold Mine is availing a cash injection of 45-thousand dollars as the main sponsor , with FNB Namibia, Coca Cola, Karibib Town Council and Namagra as co-sponsors. “It is an open marathon on the calendar of Namibia Athletics and approved by Race Print. On top of that there will be more exciting activities lined-up for this year,” said event Organizer Bethold Karumendu. A Community Relations Officer of Navachab Gold Mine, Lion Kahimise says his company is planning to be involved for more years to come. “Our company's involvement is an effort to revitalize road running in that part of the country, and we hope to continue,” concluded Kahimise. Winners in both the senior men and women categories of the main race will walk away with five thousand dollars. Other categories are junior , veteran and the masters.
