AC Boxing urges unity in Boxing development

Windhoek-The management of African Connection Boxing Gym announced earlier this week that they want those in boxing circles to join hands in growing the sports code and focusing on development. AC boxing gym opened its doors in Windhoek six months ago. It is situated in the Lafrenz Industrial area and the gym's management's hard work has already earned them a world title, through Paulus "El Jesus" Ambunda, who scooped the IBO Super bantam weight belt. Ambunda defeated Muhamad Ridwan of Singapore. Speaking to the media, after welcoming Ambunda back home, one of AC's top trainers, Nicky Natangwe, said that unity among those in boxing circles will open doors and groom champions for the country. “This confusion of promoters and boxers have to end. Boxers must train at any gym of their choice. Our gym is open to any boxers, we have an open door policy, so just coke in or assistance or advice, we are ready to help in building champions for this country of ours” Natangwe said. His partner, Imms Moses, also spoke strongly about the importance of working together for development. “When promoters, trainers and those who have the expertise don't work together, then we are killing talent in the country. It's a good thing to work together as a boxing family. The reason I opened a gym was to create competition which is good in developing the game of boxing” said Moses. Boxing trainers at the press conference also urged the media to give exposure to upcoming athletes through interviews to motivate aspiring boxers.
