Windhoek-Namibia's blade runner Etchegaray Nguluwe just underwent a successful second operation that -although quite serious - allowed him to leave the hospital a day later. After his first procedure left much to be desired, the 29-year-old blade runner's correctional operation was finally done by local doctor Pompie Burger. Nguluwe's biokeniticist provided more details on this. “Etchy always had a problem when he was moving in the blade a little. Obviously, it was optimum so maybe that is also partly why he had these pains later. It was just a minor procedure, sticking some materials on the inside, giving him a different sleeve and now it seems to be better than ever. Etchy is smiling the whole time when he trains” Björn Magg said. Nguluwe is happy about his newly gained mobility - free of pain. “After the operation, that funny pain is gone, there's nothing there. I feel nothing now. I really start to feel the training. I'm free” he said. Nguluwe told NBC Sport that the aim is to participate in the Paralympic Games in 2020 but that they first have to raise funds for the 2019 February International Wheelchair and Amputee Sport event in Dubai. And - the more he participates - the higher his chances of standing for the Paralympics in 2020.
