Kick boxers to defend world titles in America

Walvisbay-Namibian Kick boxers Lesley !Hoaeb and Delano Müller left for the USA on Tuesday. The two will defend their world titles at the 50th Battle of Atlanta World championships, which will be held from the 14th to the 16th of June, in Atlanta, in the United States of America. The Battle of Atlanta is a major tournament with forms, weapons, fighting divisions, traditional challenge and more. For years, the Battle of Atlanta has been home to some of the greatest fighters, forms competitors, and weapons stars the martial arts world has ever known. It is due to this background that Delano Muller as the reigning sub-Saharan champion- based in Namibia - will also form part of the event. He won the title in a fight against SA Champion Thabiso Mwakebane. Delano is ranked number one in the UAEJJF Pro Championships, which were held in Johannesburg, South Africa, in February this year. The talented young man will compete in the black belt junior division for the Ring Contact Fighting Arts world title. He will also make his debut in Jiu-Jitsu on the international arena. Sensei Lesley !Hoaeb is going to the world championships in America as coach and will participate in an inter-continental title fight at the prestigious event. !Hoaeb is also the reigning sub-Saharan champion in Namibia and won this title in a fight against SA Champion Nico Bezuidenthout. The lightweight fighter is the understudy of Brazilian professor Samuel Bumbel who currently teaches and shares his expertise with Namibian Jiu-Jitsu students. It will be a historic event for !Hoaeb, as no Namibian ever participated in the international arena in Jiu-Jitsu. “I am very excited to go and compete and i am well prepared. I trained with Danny Boy and boxing skills is sharpening up. I am looking forward to make history in Namibia”Hoabeb said “This is the last training for me, and i am very confident and well prepared, and looking forward to the event” said Muller.
