Kick boxers to travel to African continental games

Swakopmund-Sixteen kickboxing students will form part of the Namibian team that will participate in the upcoming 2018 African Continental Games in Gaborone, Botswana. The students selected for the team to represent Namibia at the Games were selected by the Kickboxing Federation of Namibia at last year's Desert Storm Kickboxing event, which was held at Walvisbay. The team consist of individuals competing in different weight categories and different age groups, ranging from 7 to 38 years. At this point in time, the team is engaged in final preparations at the coast, before leaving for Botswana. They will be led by Sensei Martin Gunther. “The team is up and running and we a ready for some action and competing against other African countries. We will have another 2 to 3 training sessions and rest the last 4 days, so preparations are running well” he said. Gunter he has high hopes for Namibia to bring back medals. “We have a lot of weight and age categories, from beginners, mediate and seniors and in each division our quality is about standard” he added. The team will be travelling to Botswana on Wednesday.
