Namibia Breweries Limited sponsor Sport Expo

As part of their social responsibility concept, Namibia Breweries Limited have come on board as the main sponsors of the upcoming Sport Expo, which is scheduled to take place in Windhoek next month. This was confirmed at a press conference held at the NBL head offices on Tuesday. Namibia Breweries’ National Sales Manager James Maswahu confirmed a donation of close to 300,000 Namibia dollars, which will be used towards various activities at the Sport Expo. NBC Sport spoke to NBL Corporate Communication Manager Roux-Che Locke, who shed more light on the sponsorship. “We really want to take this opportunity and call on the rest of the corporate Namibia as well as Namibia at large to support initiatives like this. At the end of the day it’s about the enhancement of life not only of athletes, but the entire country. We are very happy to hold hands with the Namibia Sport Commission and the Sport Expo in making this a fruitful and successful event” Locke said. At the same press conference, chairperson of the Namibia Sports Commission Joel Mathews explained that people have to professionalize sport - which can only be done if individuals do not work in isolation. “It’s exactly for this reason that the Sport Expo was initiated, so that we can start talking about professionalization of sport. We cannot talk about professionalization of sport, if we isolate sport from the rest of the sectors and this why we are here to witness the Namibia breweries sponsorship” Mathews said. The first ever Sport Expo is scheduled to take place at the Hage Geingob stadium as well as the Independence Stadium from the 4th to the 7th of September 2019.
