OUTAPI AWAITS BOXING SPECTACLE

Boxing fans in the northern part of Namibia will be treated to an early Christmas gift by Warriors Promotions, as they have organised a year-end boxing bonanza at Outapi. The event, which will take place on Saturday next week, will see a total of eight title bouts, with Immanuel Andeleki taking on Matheus Kandala in the featherweight division. The main bout for the Junior Welterweight National title will be between Kapena Hamunyela Naidjala and Valde "Swapo" Ndayambekwa. The chairman of Warriors Promotions, Ludwig Haimbodi, is grateful the boxers agreed to be part of the bonanza, although the funding leaves much to be desired. He told NBC: “Boxing is a tough sport, it requires the boxer and the trainer to sacrifice a lot. I thank them, because even though they say in boxing there is not enough(funding), they accepted the contract with the little that we have” Technical Advisor Andrew Hilunanye encourages people to come in large numbers and show their support for the boxers. “It's going to be a very exciting bout, so we are just going to ask the people mostly in the north, so they can come to Outapi on the 17th of December to see what these two gentlemen are going to bring to the table.” Said Hilunanye. The boxing bonanza is scheduled to take place at the Olufuko Cultural Centre in Outapi.
