Salute's restriction order dismissed by Boxing board

The Namibia Boxing and Wrestling Control Board has dismissed a request by the Salute Boxing Academy to restrict five individuals from attending their event this weekend. The academy, through their executive chairman Kriata Kamanya, has requested that the control board prohibit Kinda Nangolo, Nestor Tobias, Tim Ekandjo, Imms Moses and Anita Tjombe from attending their boxing event on Saturday because of alleged sabotage claims. Ronald Kurz of the control board however said that it’s a request they do not have the power to grant. "It’s a request, which we cannot be able to grant because we do not have those powers. We will inform Mr. Kamanya of the due processes to follow when having such a restraining order.” he explained. Some of those who had been singled out were surprised by the move. Tim Ekandjo said: “I do not have any reaction. It's not significant to my life and I have heard of Salute Boxing but I have never attended any of their events. How can you restrict someone to attend your event if they have never attended your events.” Kinda Nangolo also seemed to be taken aback by the requesr:"I am surprised that I have been (allegedly) prohibited. I however wanted to go to the event but now I can’t go." Salute Boxing Academy will be hosting their 3rd boxing bonanza with Tyson Uushona vs Rafal Jackiewicz as the big attraction in the vacant WBC international title at Ramatex on Saturday evening
