Sport Commission sends off Anglers to South Africa

The Chief Administrator of the Namibia Sports Commission, Freddy Mwiya, has praised the Namibian Federation for Freshwater Anglers ahead of their participation at the Sport Fishing World Games. These are set to take place in South Africa from the 9th to the 17th of this month. Namibian anglers will form part of the 3000 participants, competing in the 4th edition of the Sport Fishing World Games in neighboring South Africa as of this weekend. As it is the norm, the travelling team's leadership visited the Namibia Sport Commission to be officially send off as the country's representatives to the event. “Despite being a small sport code, this federation is one of those few that have good governance, No fighting and always on time responding to any queries and providing information as required. We are wishing the team all the best in this games and please do bring back some titles” Mwiya said. Namibia have in the past won Team Awards at the competition and they have high hopes this time around as well. “We have prepared well for this games, some of the anglers spend time in South Africa preparing for this games. We will be out there to represent Namibia with proud” NFFA president Max Pieper said. The opening ceremony of the 4th- World Championships is set to take place in Johannesburg this Saturday.
