Windhoek Motor club develops future racing talent

The Windhoek Motor Club has embarked on a development programme set to spearhead motor sport activities for the young and old to fine tune their racing skills in line with competitions around the world. Motor sport has developed over the years, in the sense that most racers start in the junior max kart racing challenge, while the senior club men go through a phase where skills and talents are identified and groomed. This paves the way for upcoming racers to establish interest and passion in the sport code. The chairman of the Motor Sport Club Richard Slamet shared the status of the sport code and the future of Windhoek motor sport competitions. "It's basically the same as last year the Windhoek Motor Club we very focus on development and growing the sport as much as possible so we continue on the steppingstone we lay for ourselves last year and we want to build continue on that" he said. Youngest racer Richard Slamet in the senior clubmans class C and the Junior Maxerino go winners Guido Bidoli as well Christian Liebenberg in the Class A circuit racing shared their racing experience. "For the first few laps I was pushing but struggling but in the end I manage to overtake in the last few laps" said Richard Slamer Junior. "I feel happy for coming first and hope to win next year " added : Guido Bidoli, while Christiaan Liebenberg said "I manage pretty good in the race I came in first in my class I was technical riding alone so I felt pretty good about the race" This being leg one of the national series, all the other series are still expected to take place at the Tony Rust Racing track this year. The club is also hoping to double their membership entries in 2018 to unearth.
