Young African relegated by NPL’s disciplinary committee

Gobabis-based Young African have been relegated with immediate effect, after recommendations were made by the NPL Disciplinary Committee. In the ruling and reasons delivered by the NPL Disciplinary Committee, handed down today, the responsible Committee found Young African guilty of fraud by unlawfully and intentionally making a misrepresentation by registering a player with false identifications details. Young African were also found guilty by utilising the services of a player, who was not eligible to play as per Rule 52.4 of NPL Football manual regulations. This resulted in Young African to forfeit points for all the matches that the player participated in under the fraudulent cloud and that the points be deducted, which were gained by the team. Young African were also ordered to pay 50 000 Namibia Dollars on both charges before end of May this year. As a most relevant consequence, the club has also been relegated from the League with immediate effect. However, sources close to NBC Sport have it on record that Young African will appeal the decision
