President Hage Geingob has described Hilde Kapitaholo Amunyela Shimweetheleni, a veteran of the liberation struggle, as a fearless woman and unwavering revolutionary.

The late Shimwetheleni was buried at the Omungulu-gwombashe memorial site in the Omusati Region.

89-year-old Shimwetheleni was born in August 1933 at Oshipya village in the Oshana Region.

She was introduced to politics at the age of 32 by her late brother, Sackaria Daniel, who was a political activist together with the late Nathanael Maxwilili.
