Coastal towns battle sandstorms

Namibia's coastal towns are battling against high temperatures and sandstorms.

On Tuesday, poor visibility due to a sandstorm caused an accident on the B2 road between Arandis and Swakopmund, claiming the life of 48-year-old Morne Gareth Openshaw.
 
Shacks also burned down in Swakopmund's Mondesa and DRC areas, leaving families in the cold.

Coastal journalists open case of alleged assault

A group of coastal journalists who were attacked by fraud suspect Immanuel Nowaseb has opened a case of assault against him.

In a video captured by the victims, Nowaseb could be seen repeatedly hitting the correspondents who were assigned to cover his first court appearance at Walvis Bay with a book. 

The 40-year-old Nowaseb is facing 15 counts of fraud and, alternatively, money laundering.
