More suicide incidents were recorded over the past Easter weekend countrywide compared to last year.

The youngest person to take their life in this way was a 21-year-old male, while the eldest was an 84-year-old female.

Considering the six suicide cases reported across the country, police are urging the public to speak out concerning burning issues.

Chief Inspector Elifas Kawinga of the Namibian Police Public Relations Division says the growing rate of suicide cases in the country points to the need for intervention.
