The Editors Forum of Namibia (EFN) has described the late President Hage G. Geingob as a champion of the free press.

Further commending his direct involvement in promoting free media, which they say had a long-term impact not only on Namibia but also on the international media.

They say he played a role in the Windhoek Declaration for a Free, Independent, Pluralistic Press, which was the result of an initiative by African journalists in 1991.

Katima Mulilo residents to get free public Wi-Fi

The Katima Mulilo Town Council and MTC have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which will see the council provide its residents with free public Wi-Fi.

The Katima Mulilo Town Council's Chief Executive Officer, Raphael Liswaniso, said the council, with the help of MTC, aims to revolutionise their customers lives through innovative digital solutions.

nbc allocates equal free airtime to political parties contesting Keetmanshoop Rural by-election

The Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (nbc) has allocated free broadcasting airtime to political parties participating in the Keetmashoop Rural Constituency by-election slated for May 15.

This was revealed by the nbc’s Special Projects Manager during a consultation meeting with the political parties in Windhoek today (Thursday).

Kalilo Kalilo revealed that the broadcaster allocated 45 minutes of airtime that will be equally shared among the five political parties participating in the by-elections.
