It's a typical weekday, and the Rundu Community Library is a hive of activity.

Users range from primary school learners, teenagers here to do homework, and young adults doing research or applying for online jobs.

The Hifikepunye Pohamba Combined School in Ohangwena's Epembe Constituency now has a science laboratory and a library space, thanks to the family of the former President Hifikepunye Pohamba.

The yet-to-be-furnished facilities were constructed at a cost of close to N$800,000.

The need for the laboratory and library was raised last year by the school's leadership and the Pohamba family made a commitment to fund the construction of a two-classroom block, which now houses a library and science laboratory.
