The 2023 Sanlam Coastal Marathon features four race categories namely,  a five-kilometre run/walk, 10km, 21km half marathon and a full marathon.

The event is recognized as a qualifier run for two of the elite marathons in Africa, the Sanlam Cape Town marathon and the Comrades.

Proceeds from the Sanlam Coastal Marathon will go to an organisation partially sighted under Sanlam's 'Vision For Change' corporate social responsibility project.
