Hans Jaartze sentenced to seven years imprisonment

A resident of Keetmanshoop, Hans Jaartze, was sentenced to seven years imprisonment for a knife murder.

26-year-old Jaartze pleaded guilty to a murder charge at the start of his trial in the Keetmanshoop Regional Court.

He blamed alcohol for taking the life of his victim.

Jaartze, in his guilty plea, admitted that he fatally stabbed 39-year-old Jaco Kruger on March 1st, 2017 at Keetmanshoop.

The accused told the court he stabbed the deceased for pushing him aside.

Judge Christi Liebenberg acquits Azaan Madisia and Steven Mulundu on murder charge

In the Windhoek High Court, Judge Christi Liebenberg has acquitted siblings Azaan Madisia (30) and Steven Mulundu (25) on a charge of murder.

The siblings were also found not guilty of robbery charges. The verdict has, however, left a bad taste in the mouths of some.

The pair were initially accused of being involved in the death of Shannon Wasserfall, a 22-year-old woman and close friend of Madisia.

Wasserfall was reported missing in April 2020.
