President Nangolo Mbumba has withheld signing two private member's bills, the Definition of Spouses Bill and the Marriage Amendment Bill, citing constitutional concerns.

The #ShutitAllDown Movement has threatened to stage a counter-demonstration against those who plan to protest against the recently delivered Supreme Court judgment, which ordered the Namibian government to legally recognise same-sex marriages concluded outside the country.
