High Court Deputy Judge President Hanelie Prinsloo on Friday administered the oath of office to Gerson |Narib and Makapa Simasiku, formally appointing them as acting judges of the High Court.

The long-running Fishrot corruption trial will continue regardless of whether all accused individuals have legal representation, as Judge Moses Chinhengo has stated that the case cannot be delayed beyond August 4.

The Prosecutor General's office is yet to decide on whether the state will prosecute two police officers who are accused of killing 30-year-old Keetmanshoop resident Elleste Plaatjie.

As investigations continue following the bust of a massive criminal syndicate in Windhoek, it has come to light that the 88 Namibian youths apprehended during the operation have not yet been charged.

Prosecutor General Martha Imalwa has yet to file a plea and counterclaim in the case in which marijuana activists Brain Jaftha and Borro Ndungulu want the government to legalise the use of cannabis in Namibia.

High Court Judge Eileen Rakow has postponed the matter to August 1st.
