Contractors working on the Eneas Peter Nanyemba road project said they are facing challenges that are delaying their completion of the road renovation programme. 

The Board Chairperson of the Central Procurement Board of Namibia (CPBN), Mary Shiimi, has expressed disappointment over the performance of certain contractors, citing persistent issues such as poor quality of work, budget overruns and delays in project execution.

Regional Councillors in the Zambezi Region have appealed to the Ministry of Mines and Energy to assist in reviving abandoned rural electrification projects initiated by conservancies.

The Ministry of Health and Social Services says it will debar contractors who fail to deliver projects and will implement penalties for late delivery.

Its Executive Director, Ben Nangombe, said this when he presented a report on the ministry's activities at health facilities in Windhoek.

The Minister of Urban and Rural Development, Erastus Uutoni, says contractors who delay national projects must be blacklisted because they fail to honour their obligations with the government.
