A civic organisation called Lisha Empowerment and Development has petitioned the National Assembly to address the urgent need to revive the market for livestock in the northern communal areas.

The petition states that livestock farmers in the northern communal areas cannot sustainably sell their livestock.

It says this is because the quarantine facility at Farm Omutambo Maowe in Omusati, the Eloolo in Oshakati, and the Outapi abattoirs under the watch of the agricultural ministry collapsed nearly 12 years ago.

Learners urged to use life skills teachers for career advice

Learners have been urged to make use of the life skills teachers to get acquainted with what the job market demands early enough to make the right choices.

The call was made by various speakers at Eros Girls School, where they addressed learners on the importance of career guidance, pre-vocational education, technical and vocational education training, as well as early childhood development.

Delivering the keynote address on behalf of the |Khomas Governor, councillor for the Khomasdal Constituency Samuel Angolo highlighted the importance of career guidance.
