MEATCO REPORTS PROFIT DESPITE CATTLE DROP

Meat Corporation of Namibia has recorded a profit after tax of N$40,5 million for the year ended 31 January 2026, despite a 53% decline in cattle throughput.

This was revealed in its annual financial statements for the financial year ended 31 January 2026, released on Monday.

The Meat Corporation of Namibia (MeatCo) has spent N$1.1 million on setting up livestock auction pens at Eiseb 10 Growth Point in the Otjombinde Constituency of the Omaheke Region.

Usually, farmers would make use of the Gobabis auction pens, which are 350 kilometres away.
