Dr. Kaire Mbuende applauds South Africa on recalling diplomats from Israel

International relations expert Dr. Kaire Mbuende has applauded South Africa's decision to recall its diplomats from Israel amid the ongoing bombardment by Israel on the Gaza Strip.

South Africa described Israel's act on the Gaza Strip as a "genocide".

Speaking on Good Morning Namibia, the former ambassador justified South Africa's actions, stressing they were the right move.

Dr. Mbuende touched on the likely dire economic consequences for South Africa and other countries that have enacted this stance.

Education Ministry launches website

Police, Media trained to coexist

The Namibian Police, in conjunction with UNESCO, concluded a training of trainers workshop titled 'Project on Training Security Forces in Promoting Freedom of Expression and the Safety of Journalists'.

Over 54 participants were trained at the Israel Patrick Iyambo Police College in the capital.

Among the training's main aims were to improve the working relationship between media and law enforcement agencies and reinforce citizen trust in the police force.

Liberation stalwart Polykarpus Nghoshi Kaukungua buried

Hundreds of mourners gathered at Gammams Cemetery in the capital for the burial of liberation stalwart Polykarpus Nghoshi Kaukungua.

Kaukungua, who was conferred a state funeral, died on the 20th of August, aged 91.

As a young man, Polykarpus Kaukungua joined the likes of Andimba Toivo ya Toivo, Tobias Hainyeko, and other stalwarts in Cape Town, South Africa, in 1958, where they participated in the politics of the liberation struggle.
