Cuban residents in Namibia paid tribute to one of their country’s nationalists and philosophers, José Marti, in Windhoek today.

Marti, born on the 28th of January, 1853, and died on the 19th of May, 1895, became a symbol of Cuba’s struggle for independence.

More than 170 Namibian students graduated in various disciplines of the medical field in Cuba last month.

President Hage Geingob says Namibia is fortunate to have Cuban health professionals extend their services countrywide.
