The descendants and community of Ovaherero gathered at Okahandja for the 103rd Otjiserandu Commemoration of the legacy of Chief Samuel Maharero.

The Commemoration, also known as Red Flag Day, was held under the theme "Remembering the reburial of Chief Samuel Maharero's remains in Namibia". 

The Red Flag has commemorated 100 years since the reburial of the remains of Chief Samuel Maharero, who died in Botswana in 1923.

The commemoration was held at Okahandja under the theme, ''Celebrate the past, embrace the present, and leverage the foundation for the future generation".
