Oukwanyama TA still hopes to find Mandume's head

The Oukwanyama Traditional Authority still hopes that the head of Ohamba Mandume ya Ndemufayo can be found and buried with the rest of his remains at Oihole in Angola.

A standing call to anyone with information on the whereabouts of the head to get in contact with the traditional authority was reiterated during the 107th commemoration of Ohamba Mandume ya Ndemufayo at Omhedi Palace over the weekend.

Scores of people from the Oukwanyama Kingdom and beyond came in numbers in celebration of the late Mandume's life.

Angola's President to attend late Geingob's funeral service

Angola's President, João Lourenço, will lead a high-level delegation to the state funeral of the late President Hage Geingob on February 25, 2024.

This was confirmed by the Vice President of the ruling party of Angola, MPLA, Luísa Damião, during a meeting with President Nangolo Mbumba at State House.

The delegation arrived in Windhoek to deliver a special message of condolence from President Lourenco to the Namibian government, the family of the late President Geingob, and the nation at large.

MeatCo's Rundu abattoir inaugurated

The Ministry of Agriculture, Water, and Land Reform officially handed over the Rundu abattoir to MeatCo yesterday.

The abattoir is intended to serve as a market for cattle and small stock farmers in the Kavango East, West, and surrounding regions.

The construction of the Rundu abattoir started in 2014 and was expected to be completed in 2017.
 
The Minister of Agriculture, Water, and Land Reform, Carl Schlettwein, stated that the outbreak of COVID-19 and disruptions in tourism and other economic activities delayed the completion of the abattoir.
