Namibia's pioneering women-led leadership drew significant praise and recognition at the Commonwealth Business Summit.

The Minister of Gender Equality, Poverty Eradication, and Social Welfare (MGEPESW) has launched the 3rd National Gender Equality and Equity Policy running from 2025 to 2035.

The United Nations General Assembly President, Dennis Francis commended Namibia for its gender parity in the National Assembly, underscoring the country's commitment to inclusivity and equality.

Dennis Francis addressed a joint Parliament session this afternoon. 

Namibia has attained a 50-50 gender balance in the National Assembly, the spokesman of the lower house of parliament, Sakeus Kadhikwa, confirmed. 

Kadhikwa marked the achievement as a milestone, as Namibia is the only country so far in Africa that has reached gender balance in parliament.

Prime Minister Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila has highlighted Namibia's accomplishments in the field of gender equality, noting the country's efforts in appointing leaders and its gender-inclusive policies.
