The Deputy Minister of Education, Dino Ballotti, has emphasised that no parent or guardian is required to sleep outside a school gate to secure admission for a child.
 

The directorate of education in |Khomas Region has commenced the school placement process for 2027.

Regional Director Paulus Nghikembua says parents seeking school placement for pre-primary, grade one and eight for next year have up to 1st July 2026 to do so. 

The Swakopmund Circuit Inspector, Chris Eixab, says although most learners have been placed in schools, placement challenges persist in Grades 1 and 8 due to the growing number of families relocating to the coastal town.
