Qatar donates boxes of drought relief food to Namibia

The State of Qatar has donated 58,000 boxes of drought relief food to Namibia, valued at N$70 million, which includes transportation costs.

This donation follows President Nangolo Mbumba's declaration of a state of disaster and his appeal to international partners for assistance.

OPM aims up uplift SMEs

The Office of the Prime Minister aims to uplift small and medium enterprises (SMEs) across the country and have these vendors become suppliers of drought relief food in their communities. 

The programme will commence in April.

Drought relief food worth N$600,000 stolen

Five employees of the Ohangwena Regional Council and an employee at the Oshikango Constituency Office have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the theft of drought relief food worth more than N$600,000 from a warehouse in Oshikango.
