Stakeholders in the ||Kharas Region have expressed mixed feelings over the proposed hikes in trophy hunting fees as part of reviewed regulations. 

They shared their sentiments at the stakeholder consultation held in Keetmanshoop.

The Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism has made over N$ 160 million from trophy hunting through joint venture tourism and over 20 million through conservancies.

Daniel highlighted that the trophy hunting is done in a sustainable manner and under the regulatory framework.

The Botswana Wildlife Producers Association expressed discontent against the United Kingdom's Hunting Trophies or Import Prohibition Bill. 

The bill tabled in the UK's Parliament in 2022 seeks to prohibit the import of hunting trophies into the UK.
