Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare has announced a government initiative aimed at improving the living conditions of vulnerable elders and war veterans of the liberation struggle, particularly those in rural areas.

The Ministry of Defence and Veterans Affairs is actively conducting outreach programmes across the Oshikoto Region to engage war veterans and others involved in the national liberation struggle. 

The Association of Dependents of Veterans of Namibia (ADVN) held a demonstration in Windhoek demanding an amendment to the Veterans Act to accommodate benefits for children who were born in exile as well as dependents of war veterans.
 

Over 100 liberation struggle veterans attended the commemoration of Cassinga Day at Okongo in the Ohangwena Region.

The Association of the Dependents of Namibia's Veterans (AODNDV) handed in a petition requesting Parliament to amend the Veterans Act on war veteran dependence to accommodate them.
