The National Assembly has failed to adopt the report on Namibia’s response to the Draft Protocol on the SADC Parliament due to a lack of quorum.

The president of the SADC Parliamentary Forum has said the Forum's transformation into a regional Parliament, once completed, would enable the institution to contribute to the regional integration agenda.

Speaker of the National Assembly, Professor Peter Katjavivi, who is leading the Namibian delegation to the 55th SADC PF Plenary Assembly in Luanda, Angola, says the newly launched SADC PF Strategic Plan for 2024-2028 aligns with the region's ideals to transform the forum into a regional parliament.
