The death of Founding President on the 8th of February was met with sadness and sorrow in Namibia and beyond.

Condolences streamed in from everywhere and representatives of many international bodies based in Namibia came to the Nujoma residence in Avis to sign the book of condolences.

An investigation conducted by the Ministry of Labour, Industrial Relations, and Employment Creation has established that yesterday's ammonia leak that affected workers at the Merlus factory in Walvis Bay originated from a nearby vessel that was undergoing maintenance.

The Minister of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety, and Security says its refusal to approve a work visa application by two South African lawyers was not politically driven.

The authority says the refusal was procedural and in line with its dedication to a fair and transparent immigration process.
