Zambian authorities have called upon the Congolese authorities to strengthen road patrols along commonly used truck routes to enhance safety.

The appeal comes after reports of some missing foreign truck drivers and one left dead, allegedly after an attack.

The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) seized nearly 745,000 kilogrammes of cannabis during a series of operations around the country in July.

NamPol, in a statement on Thursday, said various drug substances were confiscated and 130 individuals arrested between 01 and 31 July.
