Thousands of Namibians gathered at the Omuthiya Recreational Park in the Oshikoto Region to mark the 34th Heroes' Day since Namibia's independence in March 1990.

Accommodation facilities in Omuthiya are fully booked ahead of the Heroes Day commemoration on August 26.

Economic activities have also picked up in the past few weeks due to the high influx of people.
