The Erongo Regional Governor, Nathalia |Goagoses has reiterated government’s efforts to find long-term solutions to the critical water shortages.

NamWater and Swakop Uranium have signed a joint-venture agreement to develop a new large-scale desalination plant in the Erongo Region.

The desalination plant is aimed at strengthening the country's long-term water security and supporting industrial growth.

The Namibian government, in partnership with NamWater, has embarked on the Ogongo–Oshakati Water Pipeline Project, marked by a groundbreaking ceremony at the Ogongo Treatment Plant in December 2024.

Newly sworn-in National Council member, Israel Hukura, used his maiden speech in Parliament to highlight serious problems affecting rural communities, especially in the Otjozondjupa Region, which he represents.

The Popular Democratic Movement has donated water infrastructure worth N$75,000 to members of the Shack Dwellers Federation in Kavango West's Rupara Village. 

After constructing their houses in 2023, 32 members of the Shack Dwellers Federation had to source income to cater for their own water needs.
