The fight against gender-based violence took centre stage in Walvis Bay as the community joined the Correctional Service, which led a GBV Walk aimed at raising awareness and mobilising community action.

Lieutenant General Joseph Shikongo, the police chief, has released the names of the officers killed in the Mariental car crash on Saturday.

Shikongo said two sisters were among those who died.

The deceased are:

1. Senior Chief Correctional Officer David Mawis Musambani (Male)

At the W.K. Rover Hall at Keetmanshoop in the ||Kharas Region, law enforcement members, including police, correctional service, and defence force officers, queued up as early as six o'clock. 

President Nangolo Mbumba signed the Electoral Amendment Bill into law, which modifies the existing Electoral Act of 2014.
