The Northern Electricity Distributor (NORED) has recorded 14 cases of copper cable theft in the Ohangwena Region.

The electricity distributor says the illegal activity is not only costly, but it is also depriving communities of a reliable electricity supply.

Residents of Aus Settlement in the ||Kharas Region are frustrated with a malfunctioning electricity vending machine that often leaves them without power.

The residents stated that the vending machine has been out of service for about six months.
