In its quest to engage content stakeholders, the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation's (NBC) leadership is in the Omaheke Region and met with the regional council leadership.

Various issues relating to the broadcaster’s operations, including both television and radio coverage, were discussed.

Residents of Ward 10 at Grootberg say several senior traditional councillors of the |Gaio Daman Traditional Authority continue to serve despite their tenures having expired.

The community says this raises serious concerns about governance and compliance with the Traditional Authorities Act.

Many residents in Aranos hope that the new political leadership will help address some of the challenges they continue to face, particularly access to land, proper housing, and reliable food support. 

While the challenges vary, many are optimistic about improved living conditions. 

Elphine Skrywer, Chairperson of the Maltahöhe Village Council, has urged political leaders and voters to put the needs of the community at the forefront during the upcoming elections.

The Landless People's Movement's (LPM) Fransiscus Khumub and his older brother, the Swapo Party's Moses Khumub, are the only two candidates to contest the Oshikoto Region's Guinas constituency by-election set for the 17th of January.
