The Kalkrand Village Council handed over 16 houses to beneficiaries of the Build Together Programme in the village, after being dormant for 17 years. 

The village council reintroduced the programme in 2023 after it secured funding of N$1.5 million from the Ministry of Urban and Rural Development.

The ||Kharas Regional Council and Hyphen have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding for the upskilling of unemployed young people in the region.

The agreement was signed at Keetmanshoop.
