WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus urged African leaders to strengthen health systems and tackle the root causes of disease as the continent looks to reduce its reliance on external health funding.

Namibia's Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN) has called for stronger international support to improve access to affordable HIV medicines and ensure sustainable funding for HIV programmes around the world.

The Ministry of Health and Social Services received N$18,4 million from Japanese Supplemental Budget Project to support health security, emergency preparedness and to strengthen its diagnostic capacity.

The funding and equipment were handed over in Windhoek today.
