The Ministry of Health and Social Services (MoHSS) has registered lenacapavir, a long-acting HIV prevention and treatment medicine.

This means Namibia can now use the injection.

Health and Social Services Minister Dr. Esperance Luvindao has announced that Namibia will move towards regulatory approval for the rollout of Lenacapavir, a twice-yearly injection for the treatment and prevention of HIV.

The Ministry of Health in Zambia has announced the registration of a long-acting injectable antiretroviral for HIV prevention, known as Lenacapavir.

The Ministry of Health and Social Services says Namibia has not yet approved the use of lenacapavir, a twice-yearly injectable medication for prevention and treatment of HIV, due to its high global market price.
