Minister of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security Lucia Iipumbu has advised Namibians in South Africa to remain calm and stay indoors during the ongoing protests, as the situation is being monitored by the embassy.
Minister of International Relations and Trade (MIRT), Selma Ashipala-Musavyi, says Namibians in South Africa are not under any threat in the face of recent xenophobia attacks in the neighbouring country.
The Ministry of International Relations and Trade says the government is actively working to assist Namibian nationals who are trapped in fraud and exploitation networks in Myanmar and Thailand.
