The Namibia Correctional Services have said that the oldest inmate in custody is 77 years old and is serving a 14-year sentence for murder, while the average age of inmates at the facility is between 29 and 38, according to figures provided by the authorities.

Keetmanshoop court sentences woman to 10 years for killing toddler

The Keetmanshoop Regional Court has sentenced 24-year-old Flora Van Kent to 10 years’ imprisonment for stabbing to death a nineteen-month old baby.
 
Van Kent, a mother of two, inflicted two stab wounds to the baby girl, causing her death.
