The ongoing shortage of medicines in public hospitals has sparked renewed criticism from NUDO leader Vetaruhe Kandorozu, who accused the Ministry of Health and Social Services of failing to address what he described as a worsening crisis in the country’s healthcare system.

Prime Minister, Elijah Ngurare has dismissed claims that Namibia's public hospitals are introducing separate units for government dignitaries, describing the narrative as dramatised and misleading.

Minister of Health and Social Services (MoHSS), Dr Esperance Luvindao, says that she is aware of the slow service delivery at public hospitals, adding that decongestion strategies are underway.

Minister of Health and Social Services Esperance Luvindao says if public hospitals are good enough for regular citizens, they should be good enough for senior government officials and politicians.

She stated this while delivering a ministerial statement in the National Assembly.
