The Governor of Kavango East Region, Hamunyera Hambyuka, says despite the region's challenges, Kavango East is laden with hope and promises. 

In his State of the Region Address at Rundu on Friday, Hambyuka identified 15 priority actions for the 2026/2027 financial year. 

EDUCATION MINISTRY SETS ASIDE N$44 MILL FOR TEXTBOOKS

The Minister of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture, Sanet Steenkamp, revealed that a budget of N$44 million has been allocated for the procurement of textbooks for the 2026/2027 financial year.

NATIONAL COUNCIL APPROVES BUDGET VOTES

Allocations include the Presidency, the Office of the Prime Minister, the Anti-Corruption Commission, the Ministry of International Relations and Trade, and the National Planning Commission.

JUSTICE MINISTRY TO BUILD COURTS IN NKURENKURU, KATIMA

For the 2026-27 financial year, the Ministry of Justice will construct two magistrates' courts in Nkurenkuru and Katima Mulilo.

For this development expenditure, N$15 million has been set aside.
