The National Council has approved several budget votes for the 2026/2027 financial year during today’s session.

Allocations include the Presidency, the Office of the Prime Minister, the Anti-Corruption Commission, the Ministry of International Relations and Trade, and the National Planning Commission.

For the 2026-27 financial year, the Ministry of Justice will construct two magistrates' courts in Nkurenkuru and Katima Mulilo.

For this development expenditure, N$15 million has been set aside.

The defence sector has been allocated about N$7.5 billion for the 2026/2027 financial year.

Independent Patriots for Change's leader Panduleni Itula says the party has identified the potential for a N$9.3 billion savings in the national budget for the 2026/2027 financial year.
